Amprop celebrates the Year of the Rooster with Rumah Victory Elderly Home, Puchong
 
AMPROP CELEBRATES THE YEAR OF THE ROOSTER WITH RUMAH VICTORY ELDERLY HOME 

Petaling Jaya, 7 February 2017: In conjunction with the Chinese New Year celebration, Amcorp Properties Berhad (“Amprop”) hosted a festive luncheon at its headquarters in Petaling Jaya. The luncheon was held in honour of 28 special guests, comprising 25 elderly residents and 3 helpers from Rumah Victory Elderly Home which is located in Puchong, Selangor. Also present at the event were the Management and staff members of Amprop.

The Event started at around 12 noon with greetings from emcees, Syed Mohd Zahir and Lim Yong Jian of Amprop. This was followed by the ushering in of 2 bright red lions, signifying the auspiciousness of the occasion. The Guests were then treated to a lively and exuberant dance performance by the lion troupe.

After the lion dance performance, Mr Soo Kim Wai, Director of Amprop presented “Ang-Pow”s (or Red Packets) and goody bags to the representatives from Rumah Victory Elderly Home.

After the presentation ceremony, it was time for the highlight of the day, the “Lou-Sang” (or widely known as the Prosperity Toss) ritual between the specials guests and Management of Amprop. “Yee Sang” (a salad dish featuring raw fish with a variety of salad items) which was served during the “Lou-Sang” ritual signifies prosperity and abundance, which is why it is a must-have during the Chinese New Year. The guests were also treated to an array of delectable local cuisine to complete the lunch ensemble for the day.

Alfred rendered various tunes ranging from Chinese New Year melodies down to popular Western classics from the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s, much to the delight of his audience.
